Mira Mural Countdown: Mike Lata

Day 1: Mira Winery is proud to feature Mike Lata on our mural “Renoir Redux: Exceptional Pairings.”

In the 14 days leading up to the July 1st unveiling of “Renoir Redux: Exceptional Pairings” – a building sized mural on Queen Street in Charleston, South Carolina – and the the groundbreaking of the Napa Valley Education Center and Tasting Room, Mira is profiling each of the 14 faces who have impacted the Charleston food scene that are portrayed in the mural.

Mike Lata, owner of FIG Restaurant and The Ordinary, has cemented his position in the Charleston restaurant scene. Mike was twice nominated for, and once winner of, the James Beard Best Chef: Southeast award. Mike is known nationally from coverage in publications such as Food & Wine, Bon Appetit, Esquire, Garden & Gun, Southern Living, Travel + Leisure, USA Today, The New York Times and many more.  The James Beard Foundation nominated The Ordinary as Best New Restaurant in 2013, and GQ, Esquire and Bon Appétit also named it one of the best restaurants of the year.  FIG was nominated for Outstanding Wine Program in 2014 by the James Beard Foundation, and has been named Best Restaurant by the Charleston City Paper numerous times.
