Rave Review of the 2009 Syrah

In November 2012 The Reverse Wine Snob, Jon Thorsen, treated our 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon to an excellent review, naming it a must have for the holiday season.  We are humbled and honored that Jon has decided to now highlight our 2009 Syrah.

The 2009 Mira Winery Hyde Vineyard Syrah begins with a strong, pleasing aroma of abundant dark fruit, smoked meat, a little menthol and spice. This full-bodied wine tastes wonderful — this is some serious Syrah. There’s lots of dark fruit, a nice spicy streak, continuing smoked meat notes and great balance. It ends with some nice graphite minerality and more deep, dark fruit that hangs around for quite awhile.

The next time you are in the market for a well balanced red that lingers with delight, think of Mira’s “seriously good Syrah.”
