Thank Mom this Mother’s Day
Mother’s Day is this Sunday, May 11 & we want to help you make the day extra special for the leading lady in your life. From Mothers of newborns to Grandmothers, being a Mom is a tough job, and these strong women should be praised more than once a year. Therefore on Mother’s Day make sure you remember all of the special things your Mother has done for you & celebrate her from morning to night.
One important thing to remember is that the Mom should not plan her own Mother’s Day. Moms plan everything, what to cook, when to eat, doctors appointments, play dates, plumber appointments and household necessities – give her a break! Some ideas are to start with letting Mom sleep in. Turn off the alarm, don’t let the kids run and shout in her room, don’t make her feed the pets, simply snooze until she wants to get up. Breakfast in bed is also a nice touch. This can be as easy as a bagel with cream cheese or store bought blueberry muffin, to homemade eggs Benedict or french toast. Remember what Mom likes and that it is more the thought that counts than the cost or trouble. For those Moms who cannot sleep in, no matter how hard they might want to, breakfast with the family and even breakfast or brunch at a nice restaurant are also wonderful ideas.
The wonderful thing about Mother’s Day is that you can celebrate all day long. You do not have to stick to breakfast but can do a nice lunch or big dinner. Check in your town and see what restaurants are offering specials for Mom. With the weather getting nicer picnics are perfect too! Mini golf, a long walk, baseball game, trip to the park are nice ways to spend the day. For the movie buffs, a trip to the local theater with a large popcorn is a special treat!
No matter how you decide to spend your time with your Mom remember the little things she does as well as the big and make sure to shower her with unending THANKS!
