Some of America’s best tasting wines are now being produced in states with a far different climate than that of California, America’s leading producer in wine. Recently, unsuspecting locations such as Michigan, Virginia, Texas and more have seen an increase in wineries across the state. With a learned knowledge of each individual terroir, established vineyards are able to produce a variety of wines from Merlot to Riesling. At the moment, California still accounts for 90 percent of the country’s wine production, but states like Virginia and Texas will soon be concerning rivals to the California wine industry. Although Mira plans to stick with the typical California climate for our grape growing and production, we are proud to pour our wines in select restaurants throughout not only California, but also South Carolina, Florida, Washington, D.C., Michigan, and soon to be Arkansas and Virginia!
