Wine & Weddings: Mira Toasts Charleston Fashion Week
Mira is thrilled to be a part of Charleston Fashion Week’s Spring Bridal Show this Saturday, March 22-24. As its eighth year in production, Charleston Fashion Week showcases the talent of emerging designers and models in a five-night fashion spectacle. The renowned event also includes competitions among designers and models, bridal shows, exciting after parties, and a whirlwind of press events, all of which come together to benefit different charitable organizations in the Low country.
In a city known for its romantic cobblestone streets and ethereal atmosphere, it is no wonder why the Spring Bridal Shows are always the first to sell out. Each year, editorialists, wedding planners and hopeful brides are dazzled by the collections of a timeless occasion from local designers and other reputable bridal labels. While this year’s models may not be strutting their bridal poise by balancing a glass of Mira wine atop their veils, we are extremely honored to be apart of this anticipated celebration.
As important as the embellishments admired on the bride’s gown, serving the right selection of wine for a wedding celebration means choosing how family and friends will create memories to be cherished longer than the bride’s twelve-foot train. Many would agree that the best part of a wedding is the reception that follows the ceremony. The dancing, toasting and delicious foods turn a heart-stricken crowd into an energetic bunch when enriched with an outstanding wine to suit the occasion. We hope the show’s attendees will share these sentiments upon opening the special Mira surprise in their gift bags!
Selecting the perfect wine to serve at a wedding can be a tedious process. Try choosing one white and one red wine to accommodate all guests. Sauvignon Blanc is an extremely versatile white wine that compliments most menu options. Not only is Sauvignon Blanc adaptable but it also very refreshing and light—guests will not feel overwhelmed with food and drink. In search of an ideal red wine, look to Merlot. Despite exhibiting many of the same flavors and aroma as the ever popular, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot is a much lighter selection. Merlot is also very flexible with food pairings and will aim to satisfy guests. If you prefer to eliminate the option of two wines and simply want to present your guests with one, compromise with a rosé such as Mira’s 2012 Pinot Noir Rosé . A dry rosé is not as sweet as most rosés and pairs exceptionally well with food.
For a fabulous wedding gift to present the couple-to-be, choose a box set of Mira wine. Wine is the perfect celebratory wedding gift that is easy and effortless to give. Check out Mira’s “Date Night” box set, which is complete with Mira’s 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon and includes complimentary shipping. Celebrate the joy and happiness of a wedding with a box set of Mira wine!
