How to Make Spiced Red Wine: Recipe

Creative Culinary blogger Barbara Kiebel recently made spiced red wine, also known as Ypocras, using Mira’s 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon.  Barbara notes that while this spiced red wine, made at room temperature, is delicious as an aperitif, it would also serve as a perfect device for poaching fruit and pears, as well as in a meat sauce or even as a wine jelly with cheese and crackers. Barbara did save half of the bottle of our 95% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc for drinking “as is” with her steak dinner, and we are humbled by her kind reviews:

This is truly a wonderful wine; fabulous for drinking now, and likely even better with a few more years of bottle age.
