Mira Mural Countdown: Matthew Niessner

Day 4: Mira Winery is proud to feature Matthew Niessner on our mural “Renoir Redux: Exceptional Pairings.”

In the 14 days leading up to the July 1st unveiling of “Renoir Redux: Exceptional Pairings” – a building sized mural on Queen Street in Charleston, South Carolina – and the the groundbreaking of the Napa Valley Education Center and Tasting Room, Mira is profiling each of the 14 faces who have impacted the Charleston food scene that are portrayed in the mural.

With more than 28 years of experience, Matthew Niessner leads the culinary operations at Halls Chophouse located in the Upper King Street District of Charleston, SC. Prior to his work at Halls Chophouse, Matthew was the Executive Chef at the Sanctuary on Kiawah Island. Before that, he built his career at the following fine dining restaurants: The Brass Elephant in Baltimore, Tapas Pepin and the Princess Resort in Scottsdale, Arizona, and the Dining Room at the Osprey Point in Kiawah.
