Mira Mural Countdown: Mickey Bakst

Day 7: Mira Winery is proud to feature Mickey Bakst on our mural “Renoir Redux: Exceptional Pairings.”

In the 14 days leading up to the July 1st unveiling of “Renoir Redux: Exceptional Pairings” – a building sized mural on Queen Street in Charleston, South Carolina – and the the groundbreaking of the Napa Valley Education Center and Tasting Room, Mira is profiling each of the 14 faces who have impacted the Charleston area chefs and food scene that are portrayed in the mural.

Ever since joining the Charleston Grill in 2004, Bakst has revolutionized the Lowcountry’s idea of guest relations. Named one of America’s top five maître d’s by Executive Travel magazine, Mickey is founder and president of Feed the Need, a coalition of Charleston area chefs who are committed to helping shelters bring food to the hungry and Teach the Need, an initiative that is providing a restaurant skills curriculum to students in area Title I high schools.
