Mira Petit Verdot 2012

One of Mira’s more unique wines is the 100% varietal Petit Verdot.

 

This wine has exquisite, concentrated aromas and flavors of dark berries with hints of leather are entangled with notes of smoke, lilac, sage and cedar. The aromas subtly suggest the plush mosaic of flavors experienced on the palate.

 

 

“This isn’t a varietal is widely planted anywhere, including the Napa Valley. You can use it in a blend, like our cabernet blend, but as a standalone wine, it becomes a pretty interesting animal. It is completely different from any other wine and that’s what I wanted to capture when we bottled this as 100% Petit Verdot.” – Gustavo A. Gonzalez, Winemaker.
