Winemaker Wisdom: Rhone Rangers Update

What a wonderful time we had at the 2013 Rhone Rangers Los Angeles Tasting last June.  The one day event drew a very good showing. There were about 50 wineries of which we were surprisingly the only Napa Valley winery. The majority were from Paso Robles.

Attendance included about 200 trade and about 400 consumers. We were humbled to have many attendees compliment us on our 92 point (Wine Enthusiast) Syrah:

“tasted like no Syrah they’ve ever had…the best Syrah they’ve ever experienced.”

This was special not only because of it’s Rhone-style but also because of it’s importance to Mira as it’s production was the spark that flamed into the creation of our Winery.  As our Winemaker I am extremely proud of this wine. We were certainly impressed ourselves with the other wineries there and honored to be a part of such a great event that allowed us to share our passion for wine along with those dedicated to promoting American Rhone varietal wines.

I am excited to announce that we will be a part of the Rhone Rangers first ever event in Chicago September 11 & 12 at City Winery.  Details still to come.
