Where to Play Golf in Napa Valley

Wine and food are the first things on everyone’s mind when they plan a trip to the Napa Valley, but outside the tasting room and away from the table the valley offers loads of other activities to add to your itinerary. With the US Open returning to California this weekend we thought we’d take a look at a few of the favorite golf courses here in the Napa Valley!

Silverado Resort and Spa

1600 Atlas Peak Road, Napa

Silverado boasts two championship golf courses – the North Course and South Course – redesigned by Hall of Fame golfer Johnny Miller. Available to guests of the historic resort property, both courses take full advantage of the surrounding Napa Valley scenery. As a bonus, you can relive your playing experience from home when the PGA Tour comes to town for the annual Safeway Open. And with Silverado’s extensive spa facilities you’ve got options for the non-golfers in your group as well.

Meadowood Napa Valley

900 Meadowood Lane, St. Helena

https://www.meadowood.com/

Though currently closed due to the impacts of the 2020 wildfires, the 9-hole course at Meadowood is one the highly prized exclusive amenities offered to guests of this luxurious enclave in the hills above St. Helena. The Meadowood team has been hard at work returning the property to its former glory and recently began accepting reservations for dates beginning August 1, making the resort worthy of consideration as you plan any harvest 2021 visits to the valley.

Chardonnay Golf Club

2555 Jameson Canyon Road, American Canyon

Those who have driven into the Napa Valley from the south will no doubt have noticed this stunning public course surrounded by vines. Set in the midst of 150 acres of Chardonnay vineyards in the lowlands adjacent to the San Pablo Bay, Chardonnay offers a truly unique wine country golfing experience at any time of year. But visit in the fall and, in addition to lush vineyards and crisp weather, you can enjoy the smell of freshly fermenting grapes that waft over the course night and day.
